Beginning Public School

Back to School, Back to Structure

My daughter begins school tomorrow!  My husband and I are quite excited to have her out of the house (after a whole summer of being at home with us) doing her own thing at her new school.

She will be there 6.5 hours a day, five days a week giving us the time to do things with our sons.  We'll be excited to see her when we pick her up, and she will get her chance to be herself, learn new things, and meet new friends.

This was last week when we took her to see the school, her classroom and new teacher for the first time:

"Look up..."

"See the airplane!"

Looking for the entrance

Wow! a sensor to fill water bottles - Eco School is cool
For most of the Summer, Little Sister kept saying how much she DID NOT want to go to a new school (but she was using the words "old school" instead), and that she only wanted to go back to her old school (but she was using the words "new school" to mean former school) and be with her old friends and teacher... it looked like it was going to be challenging getting her used to the idea of a new school, new teacher and new friends.

We entered the newly built addition of the public school pleased to see that it was an Eco School.  I look forward to be part of the school community.

Sending wishes for an excellent school year to everyone,
